Monday, November 27th
The Powers Memorial Library Book Club is open to adult book lovers of all kinds. Join us at the library on the 4th Monday of every month at 6:00 p.m. for discussion and conversation. This month’s book, Elizabeth Koehler-Pentacoff’s The Missing Kennedy, tells the true story of a Rosemary Kennedy, the first daughter of a wealthy Bostonian couple who later would become known as the patriarch and matriarch of America’s most famous and celebrated family. Rosie, a slow learner prone to emotional outbursts, underwent one of America’s first lobotomies―an operation her father was assured would normalize Rosie’s life. However, when Rosie’s condition became decidedly worse, she was sent to an institution in Jefferson, Wisconsin where she remained for the next two decades (Goodreads.com).
