SUMMER READING PROGRAM

Thursday, June 15th -Tuesday, August 15th

(Children ages 0-12, Teens ages 13-18, Adults 19 and up)

Join Powers Memorial Library’s 2017 Summer Reading Program, Build a Better World! Come to the library this summer for exciting programs and activities, including our Kick-Off Ice Cream Social, Magician Rick Allen, the hilarious KidsPlay show, nature expert David Stokes, and our Family Fun Night in the park! Registration begins on June 15th, and patrons of all ages may register at any time throughout the summer.

You can also participate by picking up a reading log from the library and turning in each completed reading log to win awesome coupons and prizes!  Be sure to ask a librarian for help displaying your name on our Build a Better World Bulletin Board to mark your progress! Our Star Readers who go above and beyond will also receive special recognition and a prize at the end of the program. While you’re at the library, don’t forget to ask a librarian how you can enter to win a Kindle Fire!

DOG CARTING

Come to the library for an unforgettable wagon ride – pulled by a dog! The R.E.A.D Therapy dogs are joining us again for a unique dog carting experience. Don’t miss out!

BUILD A BETTER WORLD: EGG DROP

Thursday, July 20th at 1:00 p.m.

(Ages 8-13)

Can you drop an egg without it breaking? Stop by the library to build your own device that will protect your egg from cracking! Bring a friend! The library will provide supplies.

Learn about nature, animals, and your place in the environment in this interactive show at the library. Our performer, David Stokes, will bring his own live animals as part of the fun!
